SHARING AMERICA'S TECH NEWS FROM THE VALLEY TO THE ALLEY

Samsung certainly hasn’t been shy about taking a swing at Apple in its TV commercials, but I don’t … I don’t even know where to begin with this one.
Called to my attention by a PhoneArena reader, the ad starts with a man sitting on a mountainside trying to text and make a call on an actual apple. He grows frustrated when he can’t actually do any of those things, but then — huzzah! — a Galaxy S4 miraculously appears in his hand and the party is on.
He breaks into a dance routine with four people dressed as burglars or ninjas, and a farm animal (is it a sheep or a goat?) just straight up chilling in the foreground and background. The commercial then ends with the man taking a big bite out of the apple (subtle, Samsung, subtle) while on his Galaxy S4.
Now, the ad is made for Iceland, so there might be some cultural reference I’m not getting here, but I have to believe that this is just as odd to the Icelandic people as it is to me. Then again, this is the country that gave us Bjork (whom I love, by the way), so maybe it’s not. The video is below for your viewing pleasure. If anyone can explain to me what is going on, I’d really appreciate it.
Thank you, TiA
