Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg was scheduled to arrive at SFO on the Asiana Boeing 777 flight which crash landed yesterday, and here’s what she wrote on Facebook:
“Taking a minute to be thankful and explain what happened.” “My family, colleagues Debbie Frost, Charlton Gholson and Kelly Hoffman and I were originally going to take the Asiana flight that just crash-landed. We switched to United so we could use miles for my family’s tickets.”
“Our flight was scheduled to come in at the same time, but we were early and landed about 20 minutes before the crash. Our friend David Eun was on the Asiana flight, and he is fine.”
“Thank you to everyone who is reaching out — and sorry if we worried anyone.” “Serious moment to give thanks.”
At the time of this report 181 people had been transported to local hospitals to include at least 26 children. It was also stated that there were 2 fatalities with 49 passengers sustaining serious injuries.
