VIDEO: UNACCEPTABLE REPORTING OF ASIANA FLIGHT 214

How and why

For this type of information to roll off the tongue of a news anchor shows a sign of things to come.  KTVU-2 is a Cox Media Group station in Northern California , with coverage expanding Oakland, San Francisco and its neighboring cities, has widespread appeal in that particular market.  How and why this gaffe occurred and is now running on YOUTUBE for the world to see is beyond despicable.   And in closing, the prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin case stated that the case is not about race.

Are we that insensitive or insecure about ourselves that at the price of others we flex our lack of respect and integrity,  and insecurities for negative attention because we can’t get ourselves together or we were bullied?   Get it together, “adults” of the world.  It is time to put in end to this type of behavior that’s taking place in every neighborhood,  in every city,  in every country on all continents of the globe.

The writers, producers, assignment editors, graphics department, news director and all additional hands on this story show lack of care for their jobs and disrespect to their employer and fellow-man.  If you were the owner of KTVU-2, what would you do?  Terminate the entire staff or a select few?

Thank you, TiA

Mindboggling to me that in the multicultural SF/Oakland community, that something like this could even be taken seriously, much less get on the air. If it did not come from the NTSB officially, who did KTVU get it from? That said, one of my Asian students picked it up and posted it on Facebook as if it were real, only to realize that even he had been fooled.

Wonder if the station experienced a slip in ratings creating urgency to do something attention grabbing just for more eyeballs on their station. This is unacceptable behavior.

Knowing the local Bay Area community well, this is probably not over. There will be repercussions, loss of advertisers, firings even for simple stupidity
